£2,000 - £2,000
1914 (April 20th) First Postage Dues ½d, 1d & 2d on one FDC. The sender overpaid the letter by ½d and inserted a coin in the envelope (the outline can still be seen in "Noble" of the address). This made it subject to compulsory registration (explained in Post Office notice affixed to reverse). The registration fee was 4d less ½d overpayment left 3½d to be paid which meant 3 different postage due values were applied. All values are scarce individually on FDC and more than one value together very rare. Neatly slit open at top. A unique & remarkable FDC which we sold in our July 2010 auction for £1900 and are delighted to be able to offer again now that the buyer has sold his collection. AW (see photo)
